Chiropractic Treatments

We tailor chiropractic treatment to our patients’ needs, taking the time to listen to your problem and your goals. We consider your symptoms in the context of your full medical history, your lifestyle and your personal circumstances in order to help you manage the problem and prevent it recurring. We use a variety of chiropractic techniques such as manual therapy or spinal manipulation, massage and acupuncture as well as advice about pain control, ergonomics, lifestyle, posture and rehabilitation exercises.

BACK PAIN

There are many different types of back pain, with different causes. The key to getting the right treatment is to establish which type of back pain you may be suffering from and to seek advice if it is not improving.

HEADACHES

Headache is a common experience in adults, with more than 10 million people in the UK getting headaches regularly, making them one of the most common health complaints. However, most aren’t serious and are easily treated.

ARTHRITIS

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis in the UK and occurs after the cartilage cells protecting the joint are unable to release a sufficient amount of protein to repair the damage. This causes cartilage to soften and as a result, over time, it wears away.

NECK PAIN

One of the most common ailments in modern life today is neck pain. A recent report highlighted that there has been an increase in neck and back pain problems in recent years. A lot of that is largely down to our sedentary lifestyles.

SCIATICA

When it comes to sciatica, some people will point to their back when they have a pain, some to their leg and some may even point to their shoulder, this means that sciatica can be hard to pinpoint and can be hard to pick up on, and then treat.

SPORTS INJURIES

If you’re an avid sports player/athlete then you will be putting your body through exercising, jumping, running & tackling. Putting your body through these kinds of activities can have a long term affect on your body and lead to sprains, tears and strains.

FROZEN SHOULDER

A common condition we often see at our Tunbridge Wells Chiropractic clinic is frozen shoulder. Frozen shoulder means having limited movement in the shoulder area, generally accompanied by pain and stiffness. It can last for long periods of time, even for several years.

CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which the median nerve is compressed as it goes under Flexor retinaculum which is connective tissue under the wrist. This nerve predominantly controls the muscles which move the thumb and it also supplies sensation back to the brain of the thumb side of the hand.

FOOT PAIN

Our treatments for foot pain can include chiropractic care and physiotherapy targeting the foot and calf area, as well as the possibility of shockwave therapy. We can also help you book a follow-up appointment and advise you on simple exercises and lifestyle changes you can implement at home in order to get the most out of your treatment.

When you make an appointment with us for the first time, we will begin a discussion about you, your health and your reasons for visiting. To ensure that chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition we need to establish your overall health picture. Therefore, we will take in depth information, not just about the pain or complaint that you have, but also about your past health history. Some of the questions may appear irrelevant, but they are extremely important to us.

We will than perform a neurological and orthopedic examination to help diagnose the cause of the problem. If there are no contraindications found in the history and examination, we will start the treatment on your first visit.
